I’ve had a passion for painting horses, pets, and wild animals for as long as I can remember, always sketching and painting whenever I had the chance, developing my own unique style. As a child, I was drawn to the horses near my grandmother’s and cousins’ home, forming special connections that left a lasting impression on me.

“Every painting I create is a reflection of my lifelong love for animals and nature. Inspired by the connections and memories that have shaped me, my art tells a personal story while bringing warmth, beauty, and meaning to the spaces it touches.”

Those early experiences eventually led me to Luke, my forever horse, whose memory continues to inspire me today. Though I now live in my hometown of Frankenmuth, Michigan, rather than the country, my creativity and vision are still deeply rooted in the beauty of nature and the animals I love to capture in my art.

TO CREATE IS TO LISTEN—TO THE WORLD, TO STILLNESS, AND TO THE SPACES BETWEEN. I INVITE YOU TO LISTEN WITH ME.

MEET THE ARTIST

After graduating with a degree in advertising, I took a job as a full-time graphic artist, which included making product drawings for The North Face. I am primarily self-taught and have been influenced by studying and working with other artists.  I learned from experimenting with different mediums over the years and then one day I stumbled upon another medium - digital.

I found a program that could create what I had been doing using traditional methods (pencils, acrylics, watercolor etc...) and taught myself how to use it. I can design my own brushes, canvas, my own color palette and so much more. Still painting, stroke by stroke using my pen and tablet as my brush and canvas, I can create incredible pieces of art.  They are printed on museum quality canvas with the inks lasting well over a hundred years

Having this special connection to horses, I started creating a portfolio primarily of them. People took notice and I started doing art on a commission basis.  By using as reference a favorite photo of a beloved horse, pet or human and using my unique style, I capture a memory that will last a lifetime.

THE PROCESS

Where Digital Craft Meets Handmade Art

Bringing an animal’s story to life begins long before the first digital stroke. Inspiration often comes quietly—a soft moment in the pasture, the expression in a favorite photo, or the familiar way a beloved pet tilts their head. These small details spark the vision and guide everything that follows.

Though I paint digitally, my process remains entirely traditional in spirit. I build each portrait slowly, stroke by stroke, layer by layer, shaping light, texture, and emotion just as I would on canvas. My goal is always to honor the bond between the animal and the person who loves them, capturing not just their likeness but their presence.

Once the piece is complete, the artwork doesn’t end at the screen. I print each portrait on high-quality archival paper or canvas and then paint over key areas with acrylics—adding richness, depth, and brush texture by hand. These final touches turn a digital painting into a one-of-a-kind original, blending the precision of digital art with the warmth of traditional media.

Every finished work becomes more than an image—it becomes a tangible memory, created with intention, heart, and layers of artistry both digital and handmade.
